gate valve manual

Hey kids! In this lesson, we are going to see how to use a manual gate valvely. An accessory gate valve is designed for use in accurate flow control applications. Speaking of using a gate valve by hand, we use our hand instead of the machine to use it. This is a crucial skill because this is how we ensure that we control how much water or other material flows through the pipes.

The 2 plates in a gate valve operate as the gate. The plates can move up and down to open or close the valve. Think of a gate in your yard that you can enter, exit, and control whether people enter or exit. And just like that, when we move the handle of the gate valve it drives the plates up or down. When the plates rise, the valve opens; when they come back down, it closes. Operating a gate valve manually is straightforward and simple to master!

Step-by-Step Guide to Operate Your Gate Valve Manually

Now that you’ve located the handle, now is the time to turn it! To close the valve, turn the handle all the way to the right (clockwise). This means that you are preventing the water or other materials from flowing. Turn the handle to the left (counterclockwise) to open the valve. Be sure to rotate it slowly and carefully. Just don’t crank it too hard or too fast, you can damage the valve.

Once you have turned the handle, you should make sure the valve is functioning properly. Check for a flow of anything through the valve. If you do not hear a flow, then the valve is closed. If you see water or other material passing through it, then the valve is open and operating as intended.
